Update: IGN is continuing to experience issues with the PC version of Prey, which will further delay our currently in- progress Prey review. IGN's Dan Stapleton encountered problems once again with saves being "incompatible with current game version," preventing him from progressing any further. Publisher Bethesda Softworks told IGN yesterday the company is "actively working" to fix the issues players are running into with Prey on PC. Stay tuned to IGN for more on Prey. Original story follows: A few days after its release, a number of users, including IGN's reviews editor, have reported encountering game- breaking save issues and other problems in Arkane Studios' Prey. IGN's Dan Stapleton, who posted his Prey review in progress last week, encountered a bug 3. Those saves either crash after being loaded and attempting to move into a new area or present him with an error message saying "Save game incompatible with current game version." A statement from a Bethesda Softworks representative provided to IGN said "We are looking into the issues that people are experiencing, and are actively working to provide an update to address them.  We ask that if you are encountering issues, please report them on our support group website."Save crashes have been reported by a number of users on the game's Steam page as well.

Players have said they "cannot load into the game without it crashing"  or "can no longer go back [to an area] without crashing to desktop." The problem, according to users, and Stapleton, appear to come after a couple of dozen hours of play. One player, 2. 0 hours into the game, reported that booting up an older save allowed them to play "for about an hour but then the save becomes corrupt." Polygon's Arthur Gies also stated he encountered a crash 4.
